Then you can proceed to explain the first point of your preliminary response. Take a short break after the first item and ask the employer:

"I'm in the right direction?"
"Have you any comments to date?
You are moving from the corner "for investigators. They are "guided" by you to provide more information and "answers" in their minds.
Is your strategy to widen what is in their mind when they ask the hard question.
So give your fair share "of answer and ask them their "share" as well.
Repeat the steps above in point 2 and 3 of your first answer.
